Metta/Maitrĩ
In Buddhist practice, metta is defined as goodwill and loving concern for the welfare and happiness of others. Metta meditation is practiced with the intent of achieving a state of loving-kindness, first toward oneself, then flowing outward through friends, family, and eventually toward all living beings.
