10 Reasons They Didn't Respond to Your Email

It’s happened to all of us. We’ve sent an email and waited in vain for a response. Or, we have not responded in a timely manner ourselves for some darn good reasons! Maybe we sent a tender, heart-felt message, an earnest job inquiry, or we tried to resolve a potential conflict. Whatever our intention, when we don’t receive a reply we all begin to wonder, what happened? Since we may not ever know why, it’s better to invent our own explanation rather than fear the worst.

With that in mind, here are the top ten reasons that person didn’t reply to your email:

10. Your email ended up in the junk folder, between a letter from Nigeria and a penis or breast enlargement offer.

9. The recipient’s account was hacked by a jealous lover who deleted your email.

8. The recipient was so moved by your beautiful prose, they couldn’t find the words to express their overwhelming appreciation.

7. The recipient won a free trip to Antartica, and can’t check their email.

6. The recipient got so excited when they saw your name in their inbox, they hit “delete” by mistake.

5. The recipient dreamt they responded to your email, and thought it was real.

4. You sent it to Guam by mistake.

3. Negative energy made your email disappear in the ether.

2. The dog ate it.

1. The email got stuck on lint in the cable.
